Position Title: Agronomy Data Scientist CE Position Type: Regular - Full-Time Position Location: Harnes Requisition ID: 29550 We are looking for our new Agronomy Data Scientist Continental Europe (CE) to join our Agronomy organization at McCain. At McCain, our mission is to build a future-proof agriculture organization. To achieve this, we must develop a more resilient, efficient, transparent, and sustainable agriculture based on data science. We have different processes in place in agriculture. These generate a huge amount of data that needs to be collected, analyzed, and synthesized to bring real added value. Agriculture digitalization is also key to tackling all potato challenges. You will define and roll-out a robust strategy of data science at CE level based on the development of prediction models, enhancement of crop diagnosis, improvement of soil monitoring, nutrient management, and traceability to increase grower resilience, cost efficiency, sustainability, food safety and quality certification. You will report to the Agronomy Director CE. This position will be based in Harnes, France . Key responsibilities: You collect and analyze data to extract valuable insights and build models for agricultural productivity, sustainability, and resilience: You take a complete inventory of existing tools, recommend the right ones, and lead the implementation. You support agronomy leads (variety, R&D, technical support) to perform complex data analyses, build models, and monitor ROI. You support agronomy technical support lead in test-lifting analysis and presentation, yield prediction and cost of production establishment. You support Senior Reg program manager to collect Reg Ag data. You are accountable for Agronomy metrics (around pesticides, fertilization, irrigation) and KPI reporting to the Global Teams. You support the Agronomy Team in the Digital Agriculture implementation in coordination with the Global Team. You ensure the raw material Food Safety & Quality certifications on the farm. Qualifications: You have a master’s degree in data science, agronomy, environmental science or related. You have an exceptional knowledge of data science and statistics. You have a good knowledge of and understanding of agriculture. You know how to work with big sets of data, manage and process them and translate them in valuable output for our business. You have demonstrated experience using machine learning and statistical methodology. You are Fluent in English (both oral and written) To remember : You will define and roll-out a robust strategy of data science at CE level to generate valuable insights to our business.
