Position Title: Data Engineer Position Type: Regular - Full-Time Position Location: Matougues Requisition ID: 30464 JOB PURPOSE: Reporting to the Data & Analytics Director for Continent Europe and Great Britain, the Data Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from a wide variety of data sources. He/She will be responsible for developing and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, and enabling data accessibility for analytical and operational purposes. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for leveraging data to drive business decisions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support business needs. Develop data integration solutions to combine data from various sources, including on-premises databases and cloud-based platforms. Data Management: Implement and manage data storage solutions (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes) to ensure efficient data retrieval and storage. Ensure data quality, integrity, and security by implementing robust data governance practices. Collaboration and Support: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs. Provide support for data-related technical issues and assist in troubleshooting data-related problems. Optimization and Performance: Optimize data processing workflows to improve performance and reduce costs. Implement and manage data monitoring solutions to ensure data pipeline reliability and efficiency. Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and data management. Propose and implement new tools and technologies to enhance data engineering capabilities. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role. Strong experience with SQL and database management (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle). Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala. Experience with ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend). Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. PREFERRED SKILLS: Experience with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake or Redshift or Synpase. Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Understanding of machine learning and data science concepts. Experience in the food industry or a related field.
