Role specific kit package. Team Development Support. Accommodation (twin-sharing) TBC. Travel to and from Games-time role, plus travel expenses. Subsistence in line with ParalympicsGB policy. Role Purpose The Volunteer Manager will manage a pool of volunteers (approx. 40) who will be delivering various operational roles across ParalympicsGB House and our other transport hubs in central Paris. For the duration of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, ParalympicsGB House will be located in Clichy, Paris. The volunteers will work across areas such as accreditation checks, front of house, arrivals and departures and events. It is likely that all volunteers will be French speaking. They will need to be rostered, communicated to, and managed effectively ensuring that they have a positive experience whilst supporting Games delivery. Key Responsibilities The Volunteer Manager’s primary responsibilities will include: Managing Lead on the delivery of the volunteer induction programme. Lead the delivery of on-site volunteer training to ensure all volunteers understand the varies roles and reporting lines and are introduced to the relevant teams. Lead on any issue resolution, escalating any significant issues as required. Lead on ensuring all volunteers get necessary kit, expenses claim forms and other associated admin. Communicating Be the main point of contact for all volunteers. Manage the wellbeing of volunteers. Deliver daily volunteer briefings. Work closely with other House Managers to ensure volunteers are trained on all security and health and safety protocols. Be an ambassador for ParalympicsGB and ensure excellent customer service. Work in conjunction with the wider teams to ensure the smooth running of the House operations. Rostering Lead on the planning and changes to rostering of volunteers, working with functional area leads to understand daily demands for volunteers across the masterplan. Ensure volunteers time is managed correctly, to include sensible shift patterns and regular breaks. Wider House Operations: Provide additional support on large scale events that take place in the House. Support the House Manager on complex operational days including with hospitality provisions and operations. To be a collaborative Out of Village and House team member providing ad-hoc support when and where required e.g., A&D operations. To fulfil non-specified duties, on an agreed basis, at the request of the Chef de Mission / line manager. These additional responsibilities are subject to review and may be updated from time to time. Role Specific Competencies Fluent in French and English. Experience of recruiting, managing and supporting a team. Understanding of Incident & Issue management & reporting. A strong communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, external stakeholders and suppliers. Ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
